Bitmap fonts can contain several different sizes of the same font. If you are using PostScript fonts it is best to keep a single font size instead of a group of different sizes.

Typically you will find 12pt, 14pt, 18, etc. sizes in a font suitcase. Modern bitmap fonts are most often Type 1 PostScript fonts. The Macintosh System cannot accurately draw Type 1 Bitmap fonts without the help of a PostScript imaging mechanism (i.e the "ATM" Control Panel in Classic MacOS, or the "Quartz layer" in MacOS X). When the Macintosh System needs to draw a Type 1 font, it passes the request along to the PostScriipt imaging mechanism, which in turn will handle the drawing process. This allows the most accurate representation of what the font will look like when it is printed., which makes Type 1 PostScript fonts ideal for desktop publishing environments. Because of this process, the System does not need extra bitmap font sizes of a Type 1 font, since the PostScript font file (not the Bitmap font itself) is used to draw the font in the requested size and style.
Solution
FontDoctor will move any extra sized bitmaps to the Moved Fonts folder and free up extra disk space that is unnecessarily occupied.
